CreatePHFilms | Cycle 1 – Call for Projects 2022

The CreatePHFilms, the film funding program of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is accepting projects for Cycle 1 until March 3rd, 2022. The program aids Filipino filmmakers in the development, production, and post-production of their films. *Only for Filipino filmmakers*

Development Programs
Scriptwriting – A selective and non-recoupable fund of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (P 100,000.00) per project for the development of mid to feature-length film scripts.
Project Development – A selective and non-recoupable fund of Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P 200,000.00) per project for the development of mid to feature-length film projects.

Production Programs:
Small Budget Production – a selective and recoupable fund of One Million Pesos (P 1,000,000.00) for the production of Filipino films with an overall production budget of less than Fifteen Million Pesos (P 15,000,000.00). Projects with an overall production budget of Fifteen Million Pesos (P 15,000,000.00) and above may apply to the CreatePHFilms Fund for Small Budget Production.
Large Budget Production – a selective equity investment fund of Three to Five Million Pesos (P 3,000,000.00 to P 5,000,000.00) for the production of Filipino films with an overall production budget of at least Fifteen Million Pesos (P 15,000,000.00). Projects with an overall production budget below Fifteen Million Pesos (P 15,000,000.00) may apply to the CreatePHFilms Fund for Small Budget Production.

Post-Production Program:
Post-Production – a selective and non-recoupable fund of Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (P 300,000.00) per project for production companies engaged with post-production companies registered under the FDCP National Registry for Companies (NRC). The project to be supported must have at least an overall post-production budget of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P 500,000.00).

Important: Eligible applicants must be accredited by the FDCP’s National Registry and eligible projects must be directed by a Filipino. Additionally, 100 percent of the fund must be spent in the Philippines for qualified production expenses.

Application Period – From December 3rd, 2021 to March 3rd, 2022

Fund For Script Development

– Applicant/s MUST be a Filipino citizen or permanent resident, scriptwriter of filmmaker of the project, registered at the FDCP National Registry for Audiovisual Workers.
– Project MUST be a narrative script (can be a fiction, documentary, or animation).
MUST be a script or treatment for a mid (40 – 79 minutes) to feature-length film (over 80 minutes).
MUST be In English or different Filipino languages
MUST apply for the first time to CreatePHFIlms Funds for Script Development.
*In addition to financial support, the FDCP will offer at least two (2) sessions of script consultations with regard to concept, creative issues, and developing the screenplay.*

Fund for Project Development

– Applicant MUST be any Filipino production company duly registered as a business in the Philippines and accredited by the FDCP National Registry for Companies.
– Project MUST be a narrative script (can be a fiction, documentary, or animation).
MUST be a script or treatment for a mid (40 – 79 minutes) to feature-length film (over 80 minutes).
MUST be In English or different Filipino languages.
MUST have a Filipino director.
MUST apply for the first time to CreatePHFIlms Funds for Script Development.

Fund for Small Budget

– Applicant MUST be any Filipino production company duly registered as a business in the Philippines and accredited by the FDCP National Registry for Companies.
MUST have a Filipino director.
MUST be a narrative mid (at least 40 to 79 minutes) to feature-length film (at least 80 minutes).
MUST be a work of fiction, documentary, or animation.
MUST be in English or different Filipino languages.
MUST have a production-ready script or treatment (if documentary).
MUST have an overall production budget of less than Fifteen Million Pesos (P 15,000,000.00).
MUST have a financing plan.
MUST be ready to commence principal photography within six (6) to eight (8) months upon application.
MUST secure an insurance policy for the production cast and crew, and for public liability.
MUST have a plan for theatrical, VOD and/or festival release within the Philippines.
MUST target a distribution guarantee or deal memorandum for theatrical, VOD, and/or festival release in the Philippines. The Project must target domestic audiences.
MUST apply for the first time to the CreatePHFilms Fund for Small Budget Production, but may have applied before to the CreatePHFilms Fund for Script Development and/or Project Development.

Fund for Large Budget

– Applicant MUST be any Filipino production company duly registered as a business in the Philippines and accredited by the FDCP National Registry for Companies.
MUST have a Filipino director.
MUST be a narrative mid (at least 40 to 79 minutes) to feature-length film (at least 80 minutes).
MUST be a work of fiction, documentary, or animation.
MUST be in English or different Filipino languages.
MUST have a production-ready script or treatment (if documentary).
MUST have an overall production budget of less than Fifteen Million Pesos (P 15,000,000.00).
MUST have a financing plan.
MUST be ready to commence principal photography within six (6) to eight (8) months upon application.
MUST secure an insurance policy for the production cast and crew, and for public liability.
MUST have a plan for theatrical, VOD and/or festival release within the Philippines.
MUST target a distribution guarantee or deal memorandum for theatrical, VOD, and/or festival release in the Philippines. The Project must target domestic audiences.

Fund for Post-Production

– Applicant MUST be any Filipino production company duly registered as a business in the Philippines and accredited by the FDCP National Registry for Companies.
MUST have a Filipino director.
MUST be a narrative mid (at least 40 to 79 minutes) to full-length (at least 80 minutes) film.
MUST be in English or different Filipino languages.
MUST be a work of fiction, documentary, or animation.
MUST have an attached post-production company or companies duly registered under the FDCP National Registry for Companies (NRC) for the post-production of the Project.
MUST have already started or finished principal photography and ready for post-production.
MUST have at least a fifteen-minute (15-min) rough cut for a mid-length film and a thirty-minute (30-min) rough cut for a full-length film.
MUST have at least an overall post-production budget of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P 500,000.00).
MUST show in the financial plan a financing gap for post-production, considering the overall cost of the film and the funding already obtained.
MUST target a distribution guarantee or deal memorandum for theatrical, VOD, and/or festival release in the Philippines.
MUST apply for the first time to the CreatePHFilms Fund for Post-Production, but may have applied before to the CreatePHFilms Fund for Script Development, Project Development, or Small or Large Budget Production.
