Connecting Film Festivals
to the World

AsianFilmFestivals is moved by its passion to promote Asian audiovisual content to our audience. Our focus are festivals, but we also help to advertise Asian films with special attention to independent filmmakers.

  • Help Film Festivals reach a wider audience.
  • Develop interest for Asian audiovisual content.
  • Keep Asian filmmakers updated on open calls, financial grants, and opportunities to grow their skills & connections.

Started on April 2016, it quickly became a hub of information for both filmgoers and filmmakers who wishes to find high quality articles about incoming events and opportunities for their projects.

Over the years we developed the BIGGEST database about Asian festivals in the web, hosting more than 150 events from over 30 countries.

Apart from promoting festivals we recommend films to our readers. This year alone we recommend over 700 films (Short & Feature Films) from over 50 festivals.

During these years we have been helping filmmakers and producers to find Open Calls from the best festivals in the world.

We made such impact in the community that on 2022 we decided to create the biggest database about Film Forums, Markets, Funds & Grants, Incentives, Pitching Opportunities in Asia to help filmmakers to bring their projects to life.

Translation of Subtitles

Murder Tongue directed by Ali Sohail Jaura – Pakistan | 2022 – 18 minutes – See IMDb Page

It is May of 1992. The state sanctioned “Operation” has put the city of Karachi at constant unrest. Abdul Aziz Ansari wakes up at night and is informed by his daughter in law, Naseema that his son hasn’t returned home. As a knock on their door later at night summons them to the hospital, what they witness along the way is known today as the most brutal chapter of the city’s history, a sentiment of hatred towards their race, deep rooted beneath the system. – Wide Angle Films
