Dear Asian filmmakers, the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) is accepting Feature Films, Short Films, Episodic, XR Experience, and Music Videos until October 18, 2022.

About the festival:
The SXSW Film & TV Festival is the only place in the world bringing together creative people from so many different industries, making the SXSW Film & TV Festival an unparalleled experience at the forefront of discovery, creativity, and innovation.

Eligibility:
– Feature films (over 40 minutes) should have been completed in 2021, 2022, or is on track for completion in early 2023 and has NOT been screened at any USA festival, acquired and released via any public online distribution platform (streaming, VOD, SVOD, etc.) before the SXSW 2023. The premiere status of your film is an important factor.  However it is not absolute.  All things being equal, a higher premiere status will get the spot.
– Short films (under 40 minutes), Episodic, and XR Experience, should have been completed in 2021, 2022, or is on track for completion in early 2023. While it is a factor in their final decision-making, they don’t place tough restrictions on the premiere status of these projects. Meaning the higher the premiere statis the likely you will get selected.
– Music Videos should have been completed in 2021, 2022, or is on track for completion in early 2023. There is no premiere status required for MV. Please remember MV must be official artist approved, meaning that the music video should be the official music video for that song by that artist, that is, the artist and/or label commissioned the video and have approved the creation.
– The festival ONLY accepts submissions via their website. (See below)
– The festival doesn’t waive submission fees.
– Rejected projects are allowed to re-submit.
– After you fully submitted your project, you will receive an email from the festival. The same applies when you pay the submission fee. These two emails doesn’t mean your film was selected for the festival. The final selected projects will be notified starting October 2022 until mid-February 2023.
