
Twisted Strings (Ep. 5-7) by Huang Xi will close the Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival which will take place from April 8 – 17, 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan.

A series of bizarre deaths happen in Taiping City; the causes include aging, illness, suicide, homicide, accident and unknown. In an eerie atmosphere, Wu Yue-nu witnesses the deaths of people around her. For her, Taiping City holds all her memories. After a car accident and before she passes away, her conscience floats into the Sailing Castle, where the boundary between the real and the unreal is blurred.

About the director:
Huang Xi, born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1975, graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts. She had worked with director Hou Hsiao-hsien on Goodbye South, Goodbye and The Assassin. In 2017, her directorial debut Missing Johnny was nominated for Best New Director and two other awards at the Golden Horse Awards. Twisted Strings is her first miniseries.
