Each year I create a list with some of the best Asian films I discovered in different festivals and events. For the 2022 edition I decided to create a list specifically dedicated to short films. This is the first part of my list of fifty Asian short films from 2022.
Dear Asian filmmakers, the New York Asian Film Festival (USA) is accepting films for the Narrative Shorts Showcase until May 30, 2023.
Piling Obrang Vidyo (POV), UP Cinema’s annually hosted film festival, comes back on its 19th year featuring short films by student filmmakers from across the country. The festival will run from March 13-24, 2023 online and, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, onsite.

The Busan International Short Film Festival announced the finalists for the Competition Section. The festival will take place from April 25th until May 1st, 2022.
