Nara International Film Festival is a biennale film festival held in Nara, Japan, where used to be an ancient capital of Japan over 1,300 years ago. Naomi Kawase, the winner of Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix in 2008, serves as an Executive Director, along with local business owners as the board members.
Aside from holding the festival, NIFF also provides other activies such as a film making workshop for children, the monthly screening event “Nara Cinematheque,” and also the NARAtive project.
