
The Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival (Korea) is accepting short films until July 31, 2026.
About the festival:
Founded in 2009, the Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival (SESIFF) is one of South Korea’s leading platforms dedicated to extreme-short and short-form cinema. Now celebrating its 17th edition, the festival showcases bold, compact, and dynamic works that demonstrate the unique power of concise storytelling.
SESIFF seeks films that deliver strong emotions, fresh ideas, and meaningful messages in a short running time, believing that even the briefest stories can inspire change and make the world a better place. By bringing together emerging and established filmmakers from around the globe, the festival celebrates creativity, innovation, and the impact of short cinema.
Eligibility:
Extreme-short Competition
– Shorts completed after January 1st, 2025.
– Accepts any subject or genres.
– Running time should be less than 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
– Films that haven’t been submitted to SESIFF before.
Short Competition
– Shorts completed after January 1st, 2025.
– Accepts any subject or genres.
– Running time between 3 minutes and 30 seconds to 20 minutes.
– Films that haven’t been submitted to SESIFF before.
AI Competition
– No production year limit.
– Any subject or genre.
– Running time between 10 seconds to 10 minutes.
– Films that haven’t been submitted to SESIFF before.
Korean New Generation
– No production year limit.
– Accepts any subject or genres.
– Running time less than 20 minutes.
– Films by a director who has no screening history at the SESIFF
– Premiere status must be World Premiere.
– Selected films of Extreme-short Film Competition that are agreed for an online/subway screening will be subjected to selection of ‘Seoul Metro International subway Film Festival’ which is a part of SESIFF.
– Preview film must be the same version as the screening file to be screened at the festival.
– Preview film has to offer English subtitles if the dialogue is not in English.
– Submissions can be made via ShortFilmDepot or FilmFreeway.
– Submission Fees: $ 7 USD(submission platform may charge a fee)
– Deadline: July 31, 2026
– Notification Dates: September 1, 2026
