People collapse around him in pools of blood, yet no weapon is ever seen in his hands. As investigators trace his movements, they learn his name is Yamada Taro, and the further they follow his trail, the more clearly the tragic arc of his life comes into focus. Without offering a clear answer to this mysterious question, the film becomes increasingly contaminated by an uncanny, unsettling atmosphere. (Kim Hyung-seok)

The Mage by Danny Pang, Oxide Pang – Hong Kong | 2026 – 97 minutes | World Premiere

Lan, a woman who appears to be homeless, wanders through Hong Kong collecting discarded objects. To others, they are nothing more than useless trash, but she believes these items are inhabited by the spirits of those who died under mysterious circumstances. One day, she stumbles upon a hanged body, an encounter that draws her into a chain of suspicious deaths. As a detective investigating the case begins to suspect her after she appears at every crime scene, the two cautiously inch toward the truth while keeping each other at a distance. At the heart of the film lies the tension between a medium who can communicate with spirits and a detective who trusts only logic and evidence — two characters standing at opposite ends of how they live and see the world. Until We Meet Again by Miki Takahiro – Japan | 2026 – 125 minutes | Korean Premiere
Section: Signature

Misora possesses a special ability: she can hear the voices of the dead. One day at a funeral home, she strikes up a conversation with a pregnant woman — only to realize that the woman is the very person being mourned. Funeral director Urushibara, who notices Misora’s gift, invites her to work alongside him, and so she begins a unique journey of seeing people off — bridging the hearts of those who have departed with those who remain. Based on the widely acclaimed novel of the same name, the film translates the warmth and consolation of its source material onto the screen with remarkable delicacy. Set against the backdrop of a funeral home where life meets its final moment, it weaves together a tapestry of farewell stories, inviting us to see death not only as sorrow, but as an extension of love and memory. The process of conveying a departed soul’s last wishes and gently tending to the pain of those left behind is especially moving. Director Miki Takahiro, beloved for his sensitive and emotionally attuned filmmaking, brings his characteristic warmth to the material, and the heartfelt performances of Hamabe Minami and Meguro Ren complete a beautiful work that will linger long in the heart.
