Three Asian films were awarded at the 70th San Sebastian International Film Festival

Genki Kawamura won the Silver Shell for Best Director for his film “A Hundred Flowers”, Dong Yun Zhou and Wang Chao won the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay for “A Woman”, and On Either Side of the Pond directed by Parth Saurabh won the Kutxabank-New Directors Award. The San Sebastian International Film Festival (Spain) took place from September 16 – 24, 2022.

Dong Yun Zhou and Wang Chao for A Woman (Dir- Wang Chao) – China | 2022 – 1118 minutes

From the late 1960s to the early 1980s, Kong Xiu, an ordinary female worker, bravely got rid of the shackles of two unfortunate marriages, and grew up to be a writer in her spare time in the heavy workshop work. (SSIFF 2022)

On Either Side of the Pond by Parth Saurabh – India | 2022 – 105 minutes

Sumit and Priyanka, an eloped couple, return to their hometown, due to the financial hardships caused by the lockdown. As Priyanka seeks to leave Sumit and return to her conservative father’s home, Sumit, oblivious, wastes his time away. Debut film. (SSIFF 2022)
