The legendary Japanese filmmaker will be honored at the 24th Udine Far East Film. The Award ceremony will take place on April 29th.

«It’s for me a great honor to receive the Golden Mulberry Award of the Udine Far East Film Festival – mister Kitano says – I am truly overwhelmed. I would like to thank and to extend all my gratitude to the festival’s organizers. I am so glad to receive this important Award in Italy and to enjoy this celebration on your side, in Udine. At the same time, we are in the middle of a very difficult time, of war, scars and sufferings in Europe. I feel so sad for all these sufferings and terrified by the war in Ukraine. In this moment of uncertainty and more than ever, I hope that we can all remember that culture and especially movies can link cultures and unify humans all together. I am extremely proud to receive this distinction, going straight to my heart. Thank you to the Udine Film Festival and to all my Italian and European friends».
