A-young asks her mother for pocket money to buy a pen yet she decides to steal it after getting hurt by a harsh remark. From then, a sound of a cicada roughly resonates inside of her head. Her theft is getting worse and eventually, A-young’s stealing is way over the line. And a shriek of a cicada strikes A-young’s ears and she gradually loses her mind. (UIFF 2021)

Na-hyeong has given up her dream and prepared to enrol at Medical School to gratify her parents’ expectations. Yet she finds her true dream after meeting Seong-won who keeps pursuing her dream as a photographer. Since then, Na-hyeong discusses her concerns about prospects to Seong-won and Seong-won gives sincere advice which encourages Na-hyeong to keep her dream. (UIFF 2021)

Do-won and Ye-rim, who are best friends in the same class, write and share an exchange diary. As if exchanging letters, the two read each other’s stories and promise to be best friends forever. One day, Ye-rim begins to miss classes and even cuts off contact. She even misses summer vacation ceremony days. Do-won tries to find Ye-rim by using clues written in her diary. (UIFF 2021)

Jae-ho is tired of failing his auditions and of economic difficulties, so he leaves Seoul and goes back to his hometown. While he tries to set his mind on becoming a civil servant, because of his inability to focus and his financial issues, he takes on a part-time delivery job without his parents knowing. After borrowing his father’s motorcycle and even receiving lessons, he gets himself into an accident. (UIFF 2021)

Seon-woo has been living an awkward relationship with her stepmother Mi-kyung after his father passed away. One day Jung-hee, her long-lost mother, arrives. Jung-hee asks Seon-woo to teach her how to write poetry, but she refuses. To make matters work, on the day that he makes a mistake with Eun-soo, a student at the private school she works for, she hears something unexpected from two mothers. (UIFF 2021)

One day, Dae-won gets forced by his mother to visit home to celebrate his father’s 60th birthday. However, the father is very different from the man he knew. (UIFF 2021)

Eggs are fragile, but at the same time tough. My grandmother is an egg. (UIFF 2021)
