Call for Entries Guide for Short Films – Documentary & Animation Festivals

The guide is aimed at Asian independent filmmakers, producers and distributors with the objective of providing them with quality information on how to plan and send their movies. In this third part he publishes information about Documentary & Animation Festivals.

About this guide:
This guide is aims towards independent filmmakers, producers and distributors FROM ASIA & SOUTH ASIA that are having trouble planning their submissions. Please take in mind that this guide is ONLY for short films. For more information please go to the first part of this guide: HERE.

In this third part we show a possible route to submit to three documentary and five animation film festivals. As always, we remind filmmakers that your movie could be accepted in more than one category.

 

Documentary Film Festivals Application Route

PROS: The festivals deadline and country premiere status do not interfere with each other. There is no entry fee for the festivals.
CONS: There are only three festivals exclusively dedicated to documentaries.
FEES: None all festivals are free to enter.
Very important: For submitting to all the festivals in the list your documentary should be below the 40-minute mark.

Animation Film Festivals Application Route

PROS: You can apply to the four festivals without worrying about premier status restrictions. There is no Entry Fees.
CONS: –
FEES: FREE
Very important: For submitting to all the festivals in the list your film should be below the 25-minute mark. Please remember that the Hiroshima International Film Festival is a biennale, so you won’t be able to send your productions on 2021.
