Asian presence at the 72nd Locarno International Film Festival

We present the list of Asian films present at the 72nd Locarno International Film Festival which is taking place from August 7th – 17th, at Locarno, Switzerland.

About the festival:
The Film Festival Locarno is an international film festival held annually in August in the city of Locarno, Switzerland since 1946. After Cannes and Venice and together with Karlovy Vary, Locarno is the Film Festival with the longest history. The main feature of the festival is the open-air screening space in the astonishing Piazza Grande, with room for over 8,000 spectators, and with one of the largest open air screens in the world (26×14 metres).

This year the festival will show eighteen Asian feature films and fifteen Asian short films. A Girl Missing by Koji Fukada (Japan), Height of the Wave (Pa-go) by Park Jung-bum (South Korea) and The Science of Fictions (Hiruk-pikuk si al-kisah) by Yosep Anggi Noen (Indonesia, Malaysia, France) will compete at the International Competition.
