66th Sydney Film Festival – Call for Entry 2019

The Sydney Film Festival (Australia) is accepting films until January 31st, 2019. Here you will find more information about their call for entry.

For 66 years, the Sydney Film Festival has been bringing the best new films from around the world to audiences in Australia. As well as new features from over 55 countries, SFF screens documentaries, short films and retrospective titles. The festival hosts a number of awards to recognise excellence in filmmaking, including the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films, (which are Academy Award eligible), the Documentary Australia Foundation Award (also Academy Award eligible) and the International Official Competition, which celebrates ‘courageous and audacious fiction filmmaking’

Rules for International Entries (over 40 min.):
– Film shouldn’t have been finished before January 31, 2018.
– Films over 40 minutes must have Regional Premiere (Must be a State (NSW including Sydney) premiere). Films under 40 minutes must have Local Premiere (Must be a Greater Sydney premiere).

Rules for Australian Entries (over 40 min.):
– Film shouldn’t have been finished before February 28, 2018.
– Film should be a regional premiere (Must be a State (NSW including Sydney) premiere).

Rules for the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films (under 40 min.):
– Film shouldn’t have been finished before February 28, 2018.
– Premiere status is not required.

Rules for the Documentary Australian Foundation Award:
– Film mustn’t have been finished before February 28, 2018.
– Film should be a regional premiere (Must be a State (NSW including Sydney) premiere).

Rules for the Screenability:
– Film shouldn’t have been finished before Mar 01, 2018.
– Film should be a regional premiere (Must be a State (NSW including Sydney) premiere if over 40 minutes in length. A Sydney premiere if under 40 minutes in length.)

– This festival gives Cash Awards.
– Submissions must be done via FilmFestivalLife.
– Submission Fee:
International Productions (over 40 min.) – 87 AUD
International Productions (under 40 min.) – 56 AUD
Australian Productions (over 40 min.) – 87 AUD
Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films – 44 AUD
Documentary Australia Foundation Award – 49 AUD for Shorts | 52 AUD for Feature Films
Screenability – 4 AUD for Shorts | 7 AUD for Feature Films
* Prices shown are for those who don’t have Plan at FilmFestivalLife*

Australian Productions (Feature or Shorts) – February 28th, 2019
