The Shanghai International Film Festival is accepting films for this year’s edition. Here you can find more information about their Call for Entry.
Founded in 1993, Shanghai International Film Festival focuses on Asia, promotes Chinese films and supports new talents. With authoritative and professional awards, dialogues between domestic and international industry elites, negotiation on film trading, financing of SIFF projects, an unprecedented line-up of stars and jury members from all over the world, splendid international film panorama and audience meetings, it provides an excellent, professional and pragmatic cooperation platform for industry professionals from different regions.
The festival has three main categories: Golden Goblet Awards, Asian New Talent Awards and Film Panorama.
General Rules for the Golden Goblet Awards (Short Films)
– Short films must have been completed after January 1st, 2017.
– Short Films must be 40 minutes or less, including all credits.
– Short films must not be exhibited publicly or distributed anywhere in any nontheatrical form before the Shanghai International Film Festival.
– An Award shall be given for the best achievement in each of two categories: Live Action Short Film & Animated Short Film.
– Films in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.
– Submission Fee: Free
– Deadline: April 15th, 2018
General Rules for the Golden Goblet Awards (Feature Films)
– Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2017.
– Films must be 70 minutes or more, including all credits.
– World premiere or International premiere is given priority.
– Films in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.
– Submission Fee: Free
– Deadline: April 15th, 2018
General Rules for the Asian New Talent Awards
– Filmmaker must be of Asian Nationality.
– Films must have been completed after June 1st, 2017.
– Films must be 70 minutes or more, including all credits.
– Films in languages other than English, including in Chinese Mandarin, must be subtitled in English.
– Submission Fee: Free
– Deadline: March 31st, 2018
General Rules for Film Panorama
– Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2017.
– Films in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.
– Films must be 70 minutes or more, including all credits.

– Deadline: April 15th, 2018
