Dear Asian filmmakers, the Sunrise Film Festival (UK) is accepting films until November 29, 2026.

About the festival:
Sunrise Film Festival began in 2021 with a simple belief that a coastal town like Lowestoft deserves access to inspiring cinema, creative opportunities, and a platform for new voices.

Founded by filmmaker and creative himself, Joshua Freemantle, Sunrise was created to champion diverse stories and support emerging filmmakers who might otherwise struggle to be seen. What began as a grassroots idea has grown into Suffolk’s largest film festival, celebrating diverse stories and underrepresented filmmakers.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts both short and feature films of any genre or style.
– Films must have been completed after July 1, 2025.
– Sunrise doesn’t require a public UK premiere prior to entry. There is no premiere policy for short films, feature films or Virtual Reality works. But preferably, feature films must be at least UK premieres.
– Student categories are locked to student submissions only.
– The festival doesn’t accept unsolicited requests via email for entry fee waivers.
– Submissions must be done via FilmFreeway.
– Submission Fees:
* Feature Films – $ 42 USD (Students $ 21 USD)
* Short Films – $ 21 USD
* Student Films – $ 11 USD
