
The Montreal Asian International Film Festival (Canada) is accepting films until February 28, 2027.
About the festival:
Arts East-West, a non-profit media arts organization established in 1995 by Mi-Jeong Lee, is proud to present the Montreal Asian International Film Festival (MAiFF). Initially conceived as the Korean Film Festival of Canada (KFFC), their annual film festival was launched in 2013 and has since evolved into a media art platform encompassing film screenings, media art exhibitions, workshops, artist talks and networking opportunities.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts independent films that were produced after January 1, 2023.
– Films must align with the festival theme, “Tangibility: Soil, Body, Stories.”
– Films must center Asian perspectives and themes, fitting within one of the programming categories (AmérAsia, KFFC, East Meets West).
– Only one submission per director will be considered.
– The student category is open for current students and students from international schools and universities.
– The Dancheong competition accepts only director’s first or second feature-length film (over 60 minutes).
– English subtitles REQUIRED for all non-English language films.
– Films must be at least Quebec Premiere.
– The festival doesn’t accept films distributed/streamed online.
