31st Busan International Film Festival – Opening Film 2026

The Table: Day and Night directed by Kim Jong-kwan will open the Busan International Film Festival (South Korea) which will take place from October 6 – 15, 2026.

Cast: Min-ha KIM, Jong-hyuk JOO, Sun-hwa HAN, Ryul CHANG, Eun-kyung SHIM, Hee-jun LEE, So-young JEON, Dong-hwi KIM.

The film is a romance drama featuring four love stories set in a cafe located in a quiet alley. It explores various aspects of romance, from sweet beginnings to bitter endings, much like the cafe’s diverse coffee blends. (IMDb)

About the director:
Kim Jong-kwan has made feature films such as Worst Woman (2016), The Table (2017), Shades of the Heart (2020), and Josée (2020), participated in the omnibus film The Killers (2024), and directed “Walking at Night,” one of the segments in the Netflix original film Persona (2019). He is currently preparing for the release of Frosted Window (2026).
