Dear Asian filmmakers, the South by Southwest Film Festival (USA) is accepting Feature Films, Short Films, Episodic Content, XR Experience, and Music Videos until October 1, 2026.

About the festival:
The SXSW Film & TV Festival is the only place in the world bringing together creative people from so many different industries, making the SXSW Film & TV Festival an unparalleled experience at the forefront of discovery, creativity, and innovation.

Eligibility:
– Feature films (over 40 minutes) should have been completed in 2025, 2026, or is on track for completion in early 2027 and has not been released via any public online distribution platform (streaming, VOD, SVOD, etc.) before SXSW, it is eligible for SXSW 2027. The premiere status of your film is an important factor, however it is not absolute. All things being equal, a higher premiere status is preferable, but keep in mind it varies, especially by screening section.
– Short films (under 40 minutes) must have been completed in 2025, 2026 or be on track for completion in early 2027. While premiere status is an important factor in our final decision-making, if we really connect to and love a short film and it hasn’t received a huge amount of attention, we will try to share it with our audience.
– TV Projects must have been completed in 2025, 2026, or be on track for completion in early 2027.
– XR Experience, must have been completed in 2025, 2026, or be on track for completion in early 2027. While premiere status is a factor in our final decision-making, we don’t place tough restrictions on the premiere status of XR Experience projects.
– Music Videos (under 10 minutes) must have been completed in 2025, 2026 or be on track for completion in early 2027. SXSW does not place any restrictions on the premiere status of music videos. The vast majority of music videos screened at SXSW will have premiered online prior to the festival. It’s important to note that only OFFICIAL ARTIST APPROVED Music Videos are eligible for SXSW.
– Multiple submissions are allowed but must be submitted individually.
– The festival ONLY accepts submissions via their website.
– The festival doesn’t waive submission fees.
– Rejected projects are allowed to re-submit.
