
Dear Asian filmmakers, the Animateka International Animated Film Festival (Slovenia) is accepting animated short films for children and VR Works until July 15, 2026.
About the festival:
Animateka, a week-long international festival of animated film, takes place every year in Ljubljana’s Kinodvor and Slovenska kinoteka. Beginning on the first Monday in December. It also includes a wide range of special programs, which offer the audiences an insight into the beginnings and the development of animation, and present them with a short overview of the best contemporary animations on a worldwide scale.
Note: Asian filmmakers can apply to the “The Elephant in Competition” (international programme of animated short films for children) and the VR@ANIMATEKA Competition Programme.
Eligibility:
– The Festival accepts short animated films for children (under 30 minutes).
– The festival also accepts VR animated projects (under 30 minutes).
– Films must have been completed in 2025 or 2026.
– Films previously screened at the Animateka festival are not eligible.
– Submissions must be made via filmchief.
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadlines: July 15, 2026
– Notification Date: September 15, 2026
