The MAMI Mumbai Film Festival (India) is accepting films until June 30, 2024.

About the festival:
The MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), has brought the best of contemporary world cinema and talent to the city of Mumbai since 1997. With its expanded vision to spotlight South Asian and South Asian diaspora filmmakers, MAMI becomes the hub for South Asia, discovering and connecting emerging talent to the worldwide festival ecosystem.

Eligibility:
– The South Asian Competition only accepts feature-length films (over 60 minutes) from South Asian and Asian Diaspora filmmakers.
– The South Asian Non-Competition Section accepts both short and feature films from South and south Asian diaspora filmmakers.
– The World Cinema Section (non-competitive) accepts feature films (over 60 minutes) from around the world.
– The festival accepts fictions, documentaries, animations, and experimental films.
– Submitted films must have been completed after October 1, 2023. Films applying to the World Cinema Section needs to be completed after November 1, 2023.
– South Asia Competition and Non-Competition sections are open to films from the following South Asian countries – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka. These sections are also open to films that have a South Asian connection (a large part of the film photography should be based in South Asia) or directors of South Asian descent based anywhere in the world.
– All films should be at minimum Indian Premiere. Meaning that films shouldn’t have been screened publicly in India before the festival.
– All films have to be submitted in their original version with English subtitles. If the original version of the film is in English, English subtitles are still required.
– Dubbed versions of films in other languages are not eligible for submission.
– An applicant filling this form can do so only on behalf of the rights holder of the film. The applicant may or may not be the rights holder of the film, but they are solely responsible for the authenticity of the information provided.
