These are twenty short films you shouldn’t miss at the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival which will take place from August 24 – 30, 2023 in Seoul, Korea.

**An Ordinary Day** by Gim Ju-yeon – Korea | 2023 – 20 minutes | World Premiere

One afternoon, when a comet is predicted to hit the earth, Su-in and Jae-hee, who did not know each other well, visit places they have never been before and get to know each other. The end of the world is gradually approaching, and they climb to the higher ground, embracing the moment of extinction. (SIWFF 2023)

**Breaking News** by Jessica Heng – Singapore | 2022 – 24 minutes | Korean Premiere

18-year-old Eliza is pregnant, and grappling with the prospect of abortion. Through interactions with her family, she contemplates what it means to be a mother, and to be mothered. (SIWFF 2023)

**Differentiation** by Kwon Yeha – Korea | 2023 – 16 minutes

A-jung learns about her mother Kyung-sook’s terminal stage of cancer. The dying mother proposes a celebration of life ceremony to her daughter. They organize a happy funeral together. People enjoy Kyung-sook’s favorite food, attire, and songs during the ceremony. After her mother’s passing, A-jung finds a small box. (SIWFF 2023)

**Fly Me to the Sea** by Rox Kexin Li – China | 2023 – 28 mintues | International Premiere

Growing up by the sea, a boat-dweller girl can breathe underwater and deep dive with gills in her body. Under the current wave of “going ashore” in China, she left the sea to work in a local garment factory in Lotus Hill. How will she handle life on the land? (SIWFF 2023)

**House of Existence** by Joung Yumi – Korea | 2022 – 9 minutes

There is a house. The house begins to fall apart. As the roof and walls collapse, it slowly reveals the belongings inside the house. These too, fall to the floor, break, and disappear. When everything is gone, a person appears, left alone amidst the remains. (SIWFF 2023)

**How to get Your Man Pregnant** by Noh Gyeongmu – Korea | 2023 – 30 minutes

After ten unsuccessful IVF treatment attempts, the couple decide to give male pregnancy a try. (SIWFF 2023)

**Jiwon and Yulia** by moon Haejun – Korea | 2023 – 19 minutes

Jiwon, a 19-year-old 4th generation Koryo-saram (Korean-Uzbekistan), has been falling apart since Hani, Jiwon’s only Korean-born friend, started to prepare for the college entry exam. She decides to join Hani in her mischief with Hani’s new friend Sunwoo, to save their friendship. (SIWFF 2023)

**Little Love** by Aizhan Kassymbek – Kazakhstan | 2022 – 18 minutes | Korean Premiere

Going through a vulnerable teenage period and parents’ divorce, Camilla’s naive world is falling apart. Trying to manage with her new reality and uncontrollable desires, she decides to escape to a quiet place with her friend Raushan. There she hopes to find a little love that she desperately needs. Philippines | 2022 – 5 minutes

A dictator’s son revises history, a girl cuts her nails at night. He wins the presidency, her personal history is revised. (SIWFF 2023)

**Muse** by Cho Yoonbin – Korea | 2023 – 27 minutes | World Premiere

Yoon-young, an aspiring writer, has been struggling with her writing recently. One day, she visits her friend Soojin. Soojin suggests Yoon-young take a bath together in the bathtub, but Yoon-young refuses. At that moment, Soojin’s boyfriend, Hyunoh arrives at Soojin’s house. (SIWFF 2023)
