25th Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival – Opening Films 2023

Four short films will open the Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival which will take place from August 4 – 6, 2023 at the Jeongdong Elementary School. Jeongdongjin, Korea.

Opening Films

**Drive with Zombies** by KIM Seon-been – Korea | 2023 – 28 minutes

좀비시대에도 어김없이 다가온 수능 날, 오합지졸 여고생들이 직접 운전을 해서 수능장으로 간다.

**Puppet Story** by PARK Se-hong – Korea | 2022 – 15 minutes

Director Park and his Stop Motion Puppets. Fairy, Woodcutter and Monster’s Story.

**Taste of Steak-Out** by Kim Jee-Hong – Korea | 2023 – 20 minutes

한 달째 잠복근무 중인 동우와 만수. 더 이상 맛없는 빵으로 식사를 하고 싶지 않던 두 사람은 나름의 맛있는 식사를 하기로 한다.

**How to get your man pregnant** by NOH Gyeong-mu – Korea | 2023 – 30 minutes

After ten unsuccessful IVF treatment attempts, the couple decided to try male pregnancy.

About the Festival:
Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival (JIFF) is a summer festival with a celebration of independent films which takes place on the first week of August at Jeongdong Elementary school, co-hosted by Gangenung Cinematheque and Korean Film Archive. In 1999, planned with The Association of Korean Independent Film&Video, JIFF was created with qualities of alternative, independency, and romance, and is holding a screening of independent films with an inclusive atmosphere that actively interact with every audience. Also, JIFF holds audience-friendly programs such as the opening ceremony with the entire audiences, conversations with the directors and actors, and the special audience-award which the audience get to vote for their favorite films with their pocket coins, called ‘Cling-Clang Coin Awards’.
