Momo Distribution Grant – Call for Application 2023

The Momo Distribution Grant is accepting applications until April 14, 2023. *Director of the film must be of Southeast Asian descent and citizen.*

About the Grant:
The Momo Distribution Grant aims to meet the gap in the short film distribution landscape and support emerging filmmakers from Southeast Asia. The Gran will support up to four short films each year with a cash amount of SG$1000 each.

– Director of the film must be of Southeast Asian descent and citizen.
– Director of the film must have made a previous short film but not made a feature film.
– This grant is not open to full time students.
– Film must be produced in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia will be defined as Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
– Submitted film must not be longer than 30 minutes.
– The film should have a complete cut with English subtitles at the time of Grant application.
– The film must not be screened prior to the Grant application.
– All genres including drama, animation, documentary and experimental films are accepted.
– Applications will include the Project Information, Director’s Bio and Filmography (incl. links to previous films), Producer’s Bio and Filmography Synopsis (max. one page), Director’s Statement (max. one page), Shooting Script, Audience Design Plan/Film Festival Strategy (max. two page), and Distribution Budget.
– Grants will be disbursed upon signing of agreement.
– Only five short films will be selected. All decisions are final.
– Ownership of the short film produced with the Momo Distribution Grant will belong solely to the applicant.
– Recipients must indicate the Momo Distribution Grant support by displaying the given logos in the completed films.
– Recipients of the Momo Distribution Grant should provide two tickets to the world premiere screening for the Donor.
– Recipients of the Momo Distribution Grant will be invited to present their feature film proposals to the Donor for investment consideration.

Deadline: April 14, 2023

– The short film must world premiere within eight months of awarded grant (dated on letter).
– The grant includes SG$ 1000 in cash as distribution support for the awarded short film. All prizes are strictly non-transferable.
