Rome Film Fest – Asian Presence 2022

Four Asian films will be screened at the Rome Film Fest which will take place from October 13 – 23, 2022.

All That Breathes by Shaunak Sen – India, US, UK | 2022 – 94 minutes

In this hypnotic, poignant, and beautifully crafted documentary, New Delhi-based filmmaker Shaunak Sen immerses himself with two brothers who for years have been taking it upon themselves to save the black kite, their city’s endangered birds of prey, which the general population largely sees as nuisances despite their essential role in the city’s ecosystem. Jeong-sun by Jeong Ji-hye – South Korea | 2022 – 105 minutes

Jeong-sun as her name lives an uncluttered life with modest behavior even though working at a food factory. Young-soo, a factory colleague, approaches her. As they get closer, they enjoy their secret relationship, and he takes candid shots in beds with his mobile camera. One day, she gets inappropriate stares from others. (JIFF 2022)


The Hotel by Wang Xiaoshuai – Hong Kong | 2022 -112 minutes

What’s Love Got to Do with It? by Shekhar Kapur – UK | 2022 – 109 minutes

Buoyed by an ensemble including Lily James, Shazad Latif, and Emma Thompson, Shekhar Kapur’s smart, effervescent romantic comedy follows a filmmaker who decides to document her best friend’s journey toward arranged marriage. (TIFF 2022)
