Beautiful Boxer by Ekachai Uekrongtham will open the Queer East Film Festival (UK) which will take place from May 18 – 29, 2022.

Beautiful Boxer บิวตี้ฟูล บ๊อกเซอร์ is a 2003 biopic that follows the journey of Thailand’s transgender kickboxer Nong Toom, from childhood days to widespread fame as a martial arts champion. Both touching and funny, Uekrongtham’s debut feature brilliantly confounds traditional perceptions of masculinity and femininity.
