Dear Asian filmmakers, the One World, International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (Czech Republic) is accepting documentaries until November 1, 2024.
About the festival:
One World is organized by People in Need, a Czech non-profit and non-governmental organization. Besides the main festival held in Prague, there is also One World in Regions, which travels to towns throughout the Czech Republic, One World in Brussels, and One World in Schools that uses films in elementary and high-school education and organizes school screenings and other outreach projects. One World has grown over the years to become the largest human rights film festival in the world. It is one of the leading cultural events in Prague and the Czech Republic.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts feature or mid-length (minimum length 40 minutes) documentary films. Short documentaries or animated films for children for the Docs for Kids category. And Documentary films for the virtual reality section.
– Films must have been produced in the past 2 years (2023 – 2025).
– Films should have English subtitles.
– Submissions must be made via the festival’s website.
– Participation in other festivals does not preclude participation in One World.
– Submission Fee: $ 30 Euros for Feature or mid-length docs | $ 20 Euros for Docs for Kids
* The following Asian countries will be excluded from payment: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Iran, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Syria, Tajikistan, Tibet, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen. For more countries, please check the festival’s website.

We remind readers that the 27th One World – International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will take place from March 12 – 20, 2025 in Prague and over 40 towns around the Czech Republic and Brussels.
