Kiyoshi by Glenn Holsten – USA | 2026 – 89 minutes – World Premiere
KIYOSHI presents the life and work of Kiyoshi Kuromiya – the Philadelphia-based Japanese American civil rights, anti-war, gay liberation and HIV/AIDS activist. This visually dynamic film — inspired by Kiyoshi’s excitement for technology and innovation — blends archival footage, stylized interviews, studio sets, and projections to explore the impact that his birth in a WWII incarceration camp in Heart Mountain, Wyoming had on his life of activism. Interviews with friends, scholars, activist colleagues, family members and Kiyoshi himself create a compelling narrative that reveals, layer by layer, a life lived fully with joy, compassion, and a tireless commitment to, and fight for, justice.
