Dear Asian filmmakers, the Visions du Réel International Film Festival Nyon (Switzerland) is accepting documentary films until December 15, 2025.

About the festival:
The aim of Visions du Réel, International Film Festival Nyon, is to present films that, through their formal and aesthetic choices, provide personal and singular expressions and descriptions of past, present or future realities, freely interpreting the very definition of non-fiction filmmaking and its implementation. As a rule, the festival also aspires to discover new films and new filmmakers and artists.

Note: This article will only cover competitions or sections where international films can be submitted. For National competitions or sections please visit the festival’s website.

Eligibility (for International Films):
– The festival accepts Feature Documentaries (over 60 minutes), Medium length documentaries (between 31 – 60 minutes), and Short Documentaries (under 30 minutes).
– Films must have been completed in the 12 months preceding their screening at the festival.
– Only World, International, or European premieres are eligible.
– Films sent for preselection must be in the original language with English subtitles (and French if they exist).
– Submissions must be made via Eventival.
– Submission Fees and Deadlines:
* Early Deadline – October 17, 2025 | CHF 30
* Final Deadline – December 15, 2025 | CHF 40
– Notification Date: March 2026
