Space Cadet directed by Kid Koala (Eric San) will open the Busan International Kids & Youth Film Festival which will take place from July 8 – 19, 2025 in Busan, South Korea.

Celeste who lost her astronaut mother lives with a robot and is trained by the robot. The robot cooks and shares its life with her. After she finishes her training, she leaves to space for her first mission. The robot waits for her while spending time drawing pictures with the paints the girl gave to him and takes care of a stray cat. Will they ever be reunited? This silent film-style movie is this year’s masterpiece describing conversation, emotions and deep feelings with a warm and lovely drawing style. (BIKY 2025)

About the Director:
Kid Koala(Eric san) is a Montreal-based scratch DJ, composer, and visual artist known for blending music with storytelling. He has released five solo albums and collaborated with Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, and toured with Radiohead and Beastie Boys. His compositions appear in films like Baby Driver, Looper, and The Great Gatsby, and for platforms like Sesame Street and Cartoon Network. He also scored the award-winning game Floor Kids. As an author, he created the graphic novels Nufonia Must Fall and Space Cadet, both adapted into immersive live shows.
