The Last Package for Mama by Lee Yunji – Korea | 2025 – 23 minutes | World Premiere

On the first day of their mother’s funeral, while Namsu and her older sister Suyeon are asleep, their mother’s spirit appears in front of the funeral hall. When Namsu wakes up, she encounters her mother, who asks her to retrieve a delivery package before the burial ceremony. Over the matter of their mother’s package, the sisters’ mourning begins to drift apart, gradually separating them in their grief. (BIFAN 2025)

The Tree of Sinners by Ishihara Rii, Onogawa Hiroyuki – Japan | 2024 – 26 minutes | Asian Premiere

In 1920s Japan, Okiku, who has no relatives, works as a maid at a remote mansion. The master, Kikuo, a Bunraku playwright, lives in seclusion with his sickly wife. Okiku is forbidden from entering their room and has never seen Kikuo’s wife. Feeling uneasy, she secretly sneaks into the forbidden room to find out the truth. (BIFAN 2025)

Juyoung, the daughter of a shaman named Ryeong, takes her own life because of her boyfriend Taesu. Consumed by grief over the loss of her only daughter, Ryeong places a curse called Yangbap on Taesu to make him feel the same pain that Juyoung endured. Taesu visits Ryeong’s shrine repeatedly and undergoes multiple ritual ceremonies, but instead of lifting the curse, Ryeong’s power only grows stronger. In this discotheque frozen in the 1980s, the lives of four people become entangled as they each search for meaning.
