
Dear Asian filmmakers, the Encuentros del Otro Cine (Ecuador) is accepting documentaries until May 10, 2025.
About the festival:
The International Documentary Film Festival “Encuentros del Otro Cine” (EDOC) is an international, independent, and traveling documentary film festival typically held annually in Quito, Guayaquil, and other cities in Ecuador. It is the longest-running and most influential film festival in Ecuador and a cultural event of international significance. Each year, a large and significant number of prestigious non-fiction films are programmed, also promoting bold and contemporary cinema in keeping with the demands of the times. EDOC is also the most important exhibition window for documentary films in Ecuador.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts both short and feature documentaries.
– Films must have been produced after January 1, 2023.
– Films shouldn’t have had a premiere or commercial exhibition in theaters, digital or online media in Ecuador, nor have participated in other national festivals or public presentations (paid or free) in the country.
– A maximum of two documentaries may be submitted by the same participant.
– Officially selected films may not be withdrawn from the festival program.
– Submissions must be made via a Google Doc file. (See link below)
