
Dear Asian filmmakers, the Montreal International Documentary Film Festival (Canada) is accepting documentaries until June 15, 2025.
About the Festival:
The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is one of North America’s leading documentary film festivals. Each year, the RIDM presents around a hundred Canadian and international documentaries. Its industry event, Forum RIDM, is Quebec’s only documentary forum.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts documentaries, both shorts (under 59 minutes) and features (over 60 minutes).
– The festival is focused on auteur documentaries.
– All formats and/or topics are welcome.
– Works must have been produced after December 1, 2023.
– Works must be subtitled in either French or English (if the original language is neither French nor English).
– Selected films must grant RIDM the Quebec premiere, meaning they cannot be broadcast, webcast or screened-in Quebec before being shown at RIDM.
– Works previously rejected by the RIDM may not be resubmitted.
– Submissions must be made via FilmFreeway.
