The FascinAsian Film Festival (Canada) is accepting short films until January 17, 2025.

About the Festival:
Held in Calgary, Winnipeg, and starting in 2025, Edmonton, the FascinAsian Film Festival celebrates Asian filmmakers, stories and perspectives in film and media during Asian Heritage Month, with a prairie regional focus.

The festival exists to build community, foster creativity, and provide Asian-Canadian filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their work, while providing opportunities to learn and develop their skills in the craft of filmmaking.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts shorts from all genres (fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental).
– Film or video created must have at least one member of the creative team (director, writer, producer/production company or cinematographer) or one of the lead actors/subjects (if documentary) self-identify as being of Asian or part-Asian heritage.
– Films must have been completed within the past two years.
– All non-English language films must have English subtitles (hard coded or SRT file).
– All films will require English captions for the hearing impaired (upon acceptance).
– Submissions must be done via FilmFreeway.
– Submission Fees: $ 14.27 USD
– Deadline: January 17, 2025
– Notification Date: March 1, 2025
