
Dear Asian filmmakers, the Hiroshima Animation Season (Japan) is accepting animated films until April 14, 2024.
About the festival:
The competitions of Hiroshima Animation Season 2024 will be held as the main program of the Media Arts Division of the 2nd Hiroshima Festival, with the aim of contributing to the development and promotion of the animation scene in the Pan-Pacific, Asia, and the world, and by extension, culture and the arts in general, and to foster the Culture of Peace.
Note: Hiroshima Animation Season, a Oscar-qualifying festival.
Competitions:
– Short Film Competition
– Feature Film Competition
– Pan-Pacific and Asia Youth Competition
– Japanese Commissioned Film Competition
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts short animated films (under 30 minutes) and feature animated films (over 31 minutes).
– Films must have been produced after April 1, 2022.
– Student and debut films produced in countries and regions of the Pan-Pacific and Asia areas can submit to the Pan-Pacific and Asia Youth Competition. This competition accepts feature and short animated films.
– Commissioned works (commercials, music videos, TV specials, educational/promotional content, etc.,) produced in Japan are eligible for the Japanese Commissioned Film Competition.
– Submitted works that use languages other than Japanese and English must have English subtitles. Japanese Films must add English subtitles if they pass the preliminary selection. Japanese films must put English subtitles if they pass the pre-selection.
– VR projects are not eligible for submission.
– Submissions must be made via FilmFreeway.
– Submission Fee: FREE until March 17, 2024 | Then until deadline $ 34.93 USD
