Patrick and the Whale directed by Mark Fletcher will open the Korea International Ocean Film Festival which will take place from July 21 – 23, 2023 at the Amir Park in Yeongdo and the Busan Cinema Center Cinematheque.

Perhaps it’s every person’s dream to get up close and personal with a sperm whale. For twenty years, Patrick Dykstra has done just that, learning over time how whales see and hear and how to approach a whale as close as possible without touching it. His relationship with “Dolores” in Dominica will leave you both envious of his ability to connect and in awe of his sacrifice. (KIOFF 2023)
