The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival – BIFAN (Korea) is accepting films until April 15, 2026.

About the festival:
The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) aims to consolidate its identity as a ‘Fantastic Film Festival’ through Fantastic-Genre films and to provide a new and diverse aspect toward Genre film. BIFAN also encourages the understanding of different cultures through the art of fantastic films and facilitates exchange of ideas among film industry professionals from all around the world and those from Korea. Furthermore, the Festival promotes including but not limited to the production and distribution of fantastic films.

Programs:
– Bucheon Choice – Official International Competition section consists of feature films and short films with outstanding imagination and originality.
– Korean Fantastic – Official Domestic Competition section for feature films and short films where it shows up-to-date trends in Korean Genre films.
– Mad MaxX – BIFAN’s own selection of newest works by masters of world cinema
– Adrenaline Ride – Collection of bona fide contemporary genre titles making your heart race out with films of hardcore horrors and actions.
– Metal Noir – Sci-Fi, thriller and dark comedy with chill imagination.
– Merry-Go-Round – Whimsical, feel-good comedy and fantastic drama warming the audience’s heart.
– Odd Family – The one & only section which families can enjoy all together with full of joy and delightedness.
– Strange Hommage – Classics of genre film through recovery and digital remastering.
– XL – Short yet large enough to embrace the world: BIFAN’s signature short film collection from all over the world.
– Special Programs

Eligibility:
– Only films that have been completed after January 1, 2025 are eligible for submission.
– The festival accepts Feature Films (above 50  minutes) or Short Films (below 49 minutes).
– All submitted films must satisfy at least “Korean premiere”.
– In case of a film’s dialogue is other than English, the Screening Material MUST contain English subtitles as will be guided from the festival coordinators.
– It is the sole responsibility of the Entrant to clear all content of the film from any and all actual or potential legal claims and issues, including but not limited to claims based upon using music, stock footage, and any other elements contained and/or used in the film. The Festival expressly disavows any responsibility for, and will not be held responsible for any legal issues that might arise from the inclusion of funclear materials in the film.
– Films must be submitted via Eventival.
