
Dear Asian filmmakers, the Austin Film Festival (United States) is accepting films until July 1, 2026.
About the festival:
At Austin Film Festival, it is our ongoing mission to champion the work of writers and filmmakers, and this goal has never felt as urgent as it does today. Our film competition has grown year after year and so have our efforts to serve as an avenue into the ever-evolving entertainment industry.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts short films (under 40 minutes) and feature films (over 41 minutes) from both fiction and documentary.
– Films must have been completed after January 1, 2025.
– The festival prefers World, North American, and US premieres.
– Feature films must be at least a Texas premiere.
– Submissions must be in English or have English subtitles at the time submitted.
– Films and series that have been submitted to AFF in previous years are eligible to be resubmitted, provided they are eligible according to all of AFF’s current rules.
– Films and series with US distribution (obtained prior to being selected for AFF screening) or submissions produced, financed or initiated by a major film studio or television network are ineligible for competition.
– Films that have screened on US network or cable television or distributed to theaters prior to the festival dates are ineligible for competition.
– Short films that are publicly available online prior to the Festival may be considered for exhibition during the Festival, but will be ineligible for Jury Awards.
