These are ten short films you shouldn’t miss from the Film Festival for Women’s Rights which is taking place from June 25 – 29, 2025 at the ARTNINE Cinema in Seoul, South Korea.

Cicadas by Kang Mina – South Korea| 2024 – 29 minutes

On the last day of a boring high school field trip, two girls break away from the group. While enjoying their state of aberration in the mysterious forest, they encounter a girl their own age who does not go to school. Curiosity and attraction lead the three to spend the day together, and unacknowledged feelings begin to stir among them. Produced with the support of the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival. Everybody Loves Everybody by Lee Dohee – South Korea | 2025 – 12 minutes

Fourteen-year-old ‘Mo-Du’, who has lots of hair and sweat, becomes one of the final two in a pull-up competition with the P.E. captain. But she gives up after being teased for looking like a man. Later, she goes to a school uniform shop to buy a skirt and meets an older girl who looks like her. (FIWOM 2025)

Fatma by Sebastian Ringler – Sweden | 2024 – 15 minutes

Fatma, a single mother, and her son Khaled are traumatized by a past of domestic violence. Far from family and friends, they try to rebuild their shattered lives. By portraying their daily struggles, efforts to break free from their past, and regain control of their lives, the film captures the inseparable love and survival instinct defining the mother-son relationship. Revolution Abroad by Diana Gandra and Daniel Gandra – Spain | 2025 – 30 minutes

The death of Mahsa Amini in the hands of the police spiked a revolution in Iran to fight for human rights and to topple the Ayatollah regime. As happened in 1979, events on foreign lands play a major role in the movement. (FIWOM 2025)

School Trip by Lee Yunseok – South Korea | 2024 – 25 minutes

In order to survive, you have to prove your poverty, but in order to survive, you have to hide it. Ji-eun (16) continues her school life by hiding her existence as a basic recipient. Ji-eun, who has been hiding herself every day, is approaching her last school trip in middle school. If you apply for assistance support for basic beneficiaries, you can go on a school trip for free, but you can’t bear to. I’m afraid my friends will catch me. Ji-eun afraid one’s own secret will be revealed. Ji-eun see my mom stealing money because of herself. I look at all of our childhoods, which were not as beautiful as ever. (FIWOM 2025)

The Frogs by Kim Hyeongcheol – South Korea | 2024 – 39 minutes

Hajin is dealing with tons of mail and civil complaints all by herself, while her coworkers don’t even bother to help and take it for granted. Although Ha-jin hasn’t done anything wrong or made any mistakes, the continuous scolding, criticism, and even threats, gradually consume her with an inexplicable sense of anxiety. (FIWOM 2025)

The Good Student by Park Hobeom – South Korea | 2024 – 16 minutes

Sun-ah is a student in her first year in high school. She is a peer helper for her classmate,
So-hee, who has a disability of Brain Lesion. Sun-ah gets selected as a model student by the Department of Education. However, her moment of joy didn’t last long because she encounters various challenges due to So-hee’s disability. (FIWOM 2025)

Urgent Sale:  MacBook Pro 2019 Model by Park Seongeun – South Korea | 2024 – 25 minutes

Seong-eun, graudated from film major and prepares for civil servent exam in Noryangjin, Seoul. As her life on the civil servent exam became longer due to repeated failures, she eventually decided to sell her 2019 Mac Pro. However, she encounters herself in 2019, who prevents factory reset for Mac. (FIWOM 2025)

Without Anyone Knowing by Kim Nayeon – South Korea | 2024 – 18 minutes

A high school girl, So-young, has something she must do in secret. To accomplish it, she meets a stand-in agent. (FIWOM 2025)

Yurim by Song Jiseo – South Korea | 2024 – 30 minutes

In the last winter at high school, Yurim tries to help Sunmi, who has run away from home.
But Sunmi remains distant for some reason, reluctant to fully accept her help. Needing to raise money for Sunmi’s abortion, the two visit the home of Sunmi’s ex-lover, her literature teacher. (FIWOM 2025)
