The HAF Film Lab (Hong Kong) is accepting feature length projects (pre-production or early-production stage) until June 22, 2025. *For emerging Hong Kong and Chinese-language filmmakers*

About the Program:
In order to support emerging Hong Kong and Chinese-language filmmakers in the region, Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) arranges a training programme Film Lab which provides lectures on subjects such as scriptwriting, cinematography, art direction and financing. Selected teams can also enjoy one-on-one consultation sessions with industry experts.

Eligibility:
– The applicant MUST be the copyright owner of the submitted materials, or is authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner of the submitted materials.
– Projects must be full-length (running time 60 minutes or longer) feature film project with a director, producer, scriptwriter and a production company attached.
– Director of the project has directed no more than 2 full-length (running time 60 minutes or longer) feature film.
– Projects should have a proposed budget.
– Projects must display a high market potential for Asian and/or international market.
– They must exhibit both artistic and commercial qualities.
– Projects should be at pre-production or early-production stage.
– Submission fee is applied to each application and is non-refundable.
– All submissions and supporting materials must be in both English and Chinese.
– All materials submitted will not be returned.

Required materials:
– A completed online Project Submission Form (https://filmlab.hafapplication.com);
– One-sentence synopsis (30 words in English; 60 words in Chinese);
– Synopsis (100 words in English; 150 words in Chinese);
– Director’s Statement (100 words in English; 150 words in Chinese);
– Director’s Biography and Filmography (100 words in English; 150 words in Chinese);
– Producer’s Biography (100 words in English; 150 words in Chinese);
– Scriptwriter’s Biography (100 words in English; 150 words in Chinese);
– Production company profile (100 words in English; 150 words in Chinese);
– Treatment (1000 words in English; 2000 words in Chinese);
– Budget Plan;
– Full Script in CHINESE (in electronic format ONLY); and
– Submission fee paid.

– Submission Fee: HKD$ 500
– Deadline: June 22, 2025
– Notification Date: Mid July 2025
