
The Mini Film Festival (Malaysia) is accepting Malaysian short films until June 30, 2024.
About the festival:
Mini Film Festival is the longest-running short film festival in Malaysia annually held by the Cinematography Programme, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. This ever-flourishing film festival is now stepping into its 21st year with the support of many passionate individuals.
Eligibility:
– Participants shall select the categories which are suitable for their work(s), i.e. Youth or Kenyalang Juniors.
– The festival accepts all kinds of genres (fiction, animation, and documentaries).
– The See Films: Youth, is open to students with Malaysian citizenship whose film was produced when enrolled in higher learning institutions in Malaysia, are eligible to participate
– The See Films: Kenyalang Juniors, is open to students with Malaysian citizenship whose film was produced when enrolled in primary and secondary schools in Sarawak, are eligible to participate.
– Films should not exceed the 30-minute mark.
– Films must have been produced after January 1, 2023.
– Participants may work in groups or submit entries as individuals.
– All content that is submitted in the language(s) other than English is required to have English subtitles included.
– There is no limit to the number of film submissions allowed in any category.
– All entries must be in digital format.
– Submissions must be done via FilmFreeway.
– Submission Fees:
* See Films: Youth – $ 5 USD
* See Films: Kenyalang Juniors Juniors – FREE
– Deadline: June 30, 2025
– Notification Date: July 8, 2025
