1st Guadix Iridescent International Film Festival – Call for Entry 2025

Dear Asian filmmakers, the Guadix Iridescent International Film Festival (Spain) is accepting films of all nationalities with a Queer and feminist theme until August 31, 2025.

About the festival:
The Iridescent Guadix International Film Festival. Queer and Feminist Geographies was created with the aim of promoting diversity, inclusion, and visibility of the queer and feminist community through film.

From the city of Guadix, gateway to the Granada Geopark, this event will offer a space for exhibition, training, and dialogue around queer and feminist cinema, highlighting national and international works that address issues of sexual diversity, gender identity, and human rights. It will also serve as a platform for new talent, promoting the production of independent and arthouse films from an intersectional perspective that includes the contributions of feminism as a tool for social transformation.

Important note: AsianFilmFestivals and it’s creator, Sebastián Nadilo, is a collaborator and programmer for this festival.

– Official Feature Film Section
– Official Short Film Section

Parallel Sections
– Andalusian Short Film
– Views of Asia
– International (outside Asia)

Only the films participating in the Official Section will be eligible for the economic prizes, which will be the following:
– The award for the best feature film in the official section: €800.
– The prize for the best short film in the official section: €300.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts films of all nationalities with a Queer and feminist theme.
– The festival accepts shorts (under 30 minutes) and feature films (over 60 minutes).
– Films between 30 and 60 minutes may also participate, but they will be included according to the criteria of the Selection Committee in one or another section.
– The festival accepts films of all genres (excluding advertising and corporate films) may participate. The theme will be free, as long as it falls within the requirements of the GIFIC.
– Films must have been produced after January 1, 2023.
– Films may be shot in any language. All non-Spanish films must be submitted for consideration by the programming committee with English and Spanish subtitles.
– Work in Progress or non-final cuts will be accepted, provided that the screening copy is available before September 1, 2025.
– The organization reserves the right to include films that do not meet these conditions in the out-of-competition program.
– Submissions can be made via FestHome or FilmFreeway.
