50th Toronto International Film Festival – Call for Entry 2025

Dear Asian filmmakers, the Toronto International Film Festival (Canada) is accepting films until May 9, 2025.

About the festival:
TIFF is a charitable cultural organization whose mission is to transform the way people see the world through film. An international leader in film culture, TIFF projects include the annual Toronto International Film Festival® in September; TIFF Lightbox, which features five cinemas as well as learning and entertainment facilities; and the innovative national screening programme, Film Circuit. The organization generates an estimated economic impact of $200 million CAD. Eligibility:
– For the International Feature category, the festival accepts narrative films with run times of 60 minutes of longer (including credits).
– For the International Documentary Features, the festival accepts documentaries with run times of 60 minutes of longer (including credits).
– For the International Short Film category, the festival accepts all type of genders with run times of 40 minutes or less (including credits).
– For the Primetime, the festival accepts serial content with a minimum of two chronological episodes, including the series or season premiere episode. In the case of anthologies, chronological episodes are not required. Series presented at the Festival will feature a combined run time of 60 minutes or longer.
– Upon submission, films must have a World, International or North American premiere status. The TIFF reserves the right to accept submissions with only a Canadian premiere status, but the Film’s premiere status will be taken into consideration when final programming decisions are made.
– Films must be completed on or after September 5, 2024.
– All non-English-language films will be required to provide content with English subtitles.
– All English-language films will be required to have closed captions in English, providing a transcription of spoken dialogue and a description of audio cues.
– Experimental and short films that contain no Dialogue are required to have closed captions provided. Silent films require a closed caption stating that there is no audio.
– All Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway.
– Films previously submitted to the TIFF will not be considered.
– Films that has been release on DVD/Blu-ray/VOD, or released theatrical in North America, or has been aired on television and/or a public streaming platform in North America will not be eligible for consideration.
