The Festival Film Dokumenter (Indonesia) is accepting documentaries until July 20, 2025.

About the festival:
Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) is the first documentary film festival in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, focusing on the development of documentary film as a medium of expression and ecosystem of knowledge, through exhibition, education, and archiving.

In its annual celebration every December, Festival Film Dokumenter always try to observe certain social issues as its focus, as well as creating a bridge between documentary filmmakers, professional filmmakers, and the general audiences, on the purpose of improving the quality and quantity of Indonesia documentary films.

Eligibility:
– The international feature-length documentary Competition is open public, for all age and citizenship. The minimum film duration is 40 minutes, including credit title. Production year of 2023-2025.
– The Indonesia Feature-Length Documentary Competition is open to Indonesian filmmakers. The minimum film duration is 40 minutes, including credit title. Production year of 2023-2025. Provided with English subtitle.
– The Short Documentary Competition is open for Indonesian filmmakers. The maximum film duration is 40 minutes, including credit title. Production year of 2024-2025. Provided with English subtitle.
– The Student Documentary Competition is open for Indonesian students, junior to senior high. Director and film crew must be students during the film production. Application must include scan/photo of student id, or official letter from school stating applicant’s student status. No minimum or maximum duration. Production year of 2024-2025.
– The Non-competition Program is open for public, for all age and citizenship. No minimum or maximum duration. Production year of 2023-2025. Film must never submitted or screened at Festival Film Dokumenter.
– Films must include English subtitle, including films in English language. Films with regional dialects must include subtitles in both Indonesian and English.
– Shortlisted films can’t be retired from the festival programme.
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadline: July 20, 2025
