
The SeaShorts Film Festival (Malaysia) is accepting short films until May 16, 2025. *Only for directors from Southeast Asia*
About the festival:
The SeaShorts Film Festival is an annual celebration of Southeast Asian short film, comprising screenings, forums, workshops, exhibitions, and other creative endeavors from guests across the region. Founded by award-winning filmmaker Tan Chui Mui in 2017, it has grown into a permanent fixture on the calendars of cinema professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts short films under 40 minutes including ending credits.
– The festival only accepts short films from Southeast Asian Countries (must fulfilled by at least three of these criteria: filming location, language, main cast, main crew, or funding).
– Films must have been completed after March 2024.
– For the SeaShorts Competition, the director must be Southeast Asian.
– For the Malaysian Open Category, the director must be Malaysian.
– For the Malaysian Student Short Film Section, the director must be a student in or from Malaysia during the production of the film.
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadline: May 16, 2025
