48th LUCAS International Festival for Young Film Lovers – Call for Entry 2025

Dear Asian filmmakers, the LUCAS International Festival for Young Film Lovers (Germany) is accepting short films until April 25, 2025.

About the festival:
LUCAS – International Festival for Young Film Lovers is Germany’s oldest festival for young audiences and is organized by DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum.

Within the competitions »Kids«, »Teens« and »Youngsters«, LUCAS puts its focus on outstanding, international productions of children and youth films, including all filmic forms from fiction, documentary, to animation and experimental formats.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts short films (under 30 minutes) oriented towards kids and youth.
– The festival accepts all kinds of genres (fiction, documentary, animation and experimental).
– The festival accepts films produced between 2023 and 2025.
– Films must not be available on German territory for free or paid public viewing on television or on the Internet, social media included.
– Only entries that can provide a DCP screening copy with English subtitles will be accepted.
– Films must have English subtitles.
– Submissions must be made via FilmFreeway.
Submission Fee: $ 10 USD
Deadline: April 25, 2025
Notification Date: July 21, 2025
