41st Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg – Call for Entry 2025

Dear Asian filmmakers, the Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg – Hamburg Shortfilm Festival (Germany) is accepting short films until January 31, 2025.

About the festival:
The Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg is one of the most renowned and important European short film festivals. Since 1986, more than 400 films have been screened each year. The festival brings together cinema, exhibition, performative works, concerts and discourse. It shows films that react to the world in loud and sparkling, quiet and poetic, wild and calm ways. This way, selected programmes present the whole range of courageous, experimental and artistic films. Film makers, industry and audiences celebrate the short form together.

Note: The festival is a qualifying festival for the British BAFTA Awards as well as the BIFA (British Independent Film Awards). The Jury of the International Competition nominates one European film for the European Film Awards.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts films from all genres (narrative, documentary, animations, and experimental).
– Films should not exceed the 30-minute mark.
– Films must have been completed after January 1, 2023.
– Films can be submitted via Shortfilmdepot or FilmFreeway.
– Films must have English subtitles.
