FAQ by KIM Da-min – Korea | 2023 – 92 minutes | Australian Premiere

“If this is a dream, we should be hospitalized.”
Dong-chun is an elementary school student who attends seven afterschool learning academies. She wonders why she has to live like this but has no time to ask questions as she is swamped with homework. On a school retreat one night, Dong-chun, who had been left alone in the residence, comes across a bottle of rice wine. Later, the rice wine starts to ferment and make strange sounds.

Glub, glub-glub, glub-glub-glub-glub. Soon, Dong-chun learns that this rhythmic sound is like the Morse code she had learned in creative science class. What is the rice wine trying to say? Dong-chun, who goes after the identity of the rice wine, finally learns the answer to the secrets of the world and why she must live the way she does. (KFFAustralia 2024)
