The Dharamshala International Film Festival (India) is accepting films until August 15, 2024.
About the festival:
DIFF was founded by filmmakers/artists Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam with the aim to promote contemporary cinema, art and independent media practices in the Indian Himalayan region. As long-term residents of Dharamshala, they wanted to provide a non-partisan public space where Dharamshala’s diverse population could come together and interact with each other, drawn by the common language of cinema.
Eligibility:
– The festival accepts short films (under 25 minutes), mid-length films (between 26 – 29 minutes), and feature films(over 60 minutes).
– The festival accepts both fiction and documentary films.
– All films should be independently produced. Independently produced films which have been acquired by digital platforms are also eligible for submission.
– Given that DIFF is a small festival that can showcase only a limited number of handpicked films, only films that are original in their story-telling and use of cinema language, and that meet the highest international standards, will have a chance of being selected.
– Indicate if you wish to make your film available for the online festival, ‘DIFF On the Road’ year-round programme and community screenings.
– Films must be completed after January 1, 2023.
– Films need to be a Dharamshala premiere.
– Entries are accepted in all languages. All non-English language films should contain English subtitles.
– Submitted films should not contain any content which violates/infringes copyright.
– Only HD format films are accepted.
– Submission Fees and Deadlines:

– Notification Date: September 23, 2024
