The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival – BIFAN (Korea) is accepting AI films until May 26, 2024.

About the festival:
The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) aims to consolidate its identity as a ‘Fantastic Film Festival’ through Fantastic-Genre films and to provide a new and diverse aspects toward Genre film. BIFAN also encourages the understanding of different cultures through the art of fantastic films and facilitates exchange of ideas among film industry professionals from all around the world and those from Korea. Furthermore, the Festival promotes including but not limited to the production and distribution of fantastic films.

Eligibility:
– The festival accepts films (visual content) where AI technology is utilized either wholly or partially. Also, the use of ne or more AI technologies in the three main elements of the film – text (script), audio, and video – is mandatory.
– Entrants must disclose the parts and areas where these technologies were used and provide evidence of this utilization through submitted materials.
– Although there is no limit to the runtime of the films, in consideration of production methods and current technical conditions of AI commonly in use, including ending credits, a maximum of 10 minutes is recommended.
– There is no limit to the year of Production.
– There is no Premiere status required. Films premiered at the BIFAN will be given priority.
– In case of a film’s dialogue is other than English, the Screening Material MUST contain. English subtitles as will be guided from the festival coordinators.
– Films must be submitted via Eventival.
– Submission Fee: FREE
– Deadline: May 26, 2024 (24:00 KST)
– Notification Date: End May 2024
